Another successful event this year thanks to the effort and dedication of all who volunteered their time and energy, both planning throughout the year and on ride day. Thank you very much to all who made this an incredible day! A whopping 130 riders and walkers took part in the two mile walk or biked 12 or 26 miles, with 24 volunteers helping with road crossings, cooking food and providing support to the attendees. The ride raised an amazing $25.7K by the end of the day!
The ride got very wet halfway through the 26mile route, but everyone pushed through and made it back safely. As living with FA, you become attuned to persevering in the face of adversity, and watching everyone do the same on that trail, was very inspiring.
A very special thank you to Cait Monette Director of Clinical Operations for FARA, her parents Linda and Frenchy, Kristin Thompson, and my parents and sister, Scott, Teresa and Mekayla, for planning this all year and finding the sponsors and donations needed to make this event happen!
See you all next year for rideATAXIA Hometown Twin Cities 2025! ♥
