Research Receptions and Webinars

Each year, regional research receptions take place in different cities across the country. These in-person receptions highlight updates on the FA Drug Development Pipeline, clinical management of FA, insights on living with FA and more.

Speakers include FARA leadership, individuals with FA and caregivers, researchers and pharmaceutical partners working on FA, and clinicians with FA expertise.

Webinars are another way to learn about ongoing efforts in the FA community in the comfort of your own home. Tune in to learn about clinical trial updates from our pharmaceutical partners and advocacy and research initiatives led by FARA. Webinars occur every few months and are typically an hour long with time allotted for questions from the audience.

FA Symposium

Each fall, FARA and the Friedreich’s Ataxia Center of Excellence at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) host an FA Symposium in the Philadelphia area.

This is a free day-long event filled with presentations for people living with FA and their families, with the option to participate in-person or virtually. The Symposium agenda includes information on clinical management, current research in FA, and other valuable insights for participants.

Newly diagnosed or first-time attendees are encouraged to join a special welcome session. This is a chance to get to know others in the community and speak with FARA team members.
