ICAR 2022 HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO CONCERNS ABOUT TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
It is with exceptional disappointment that we announce the postponement of ICAR 2022 until later in the year. The ICAR host organizations are committed to providing a high quality scientific conference. We believe that having a fully in-person meeting is required to meet our educational and community building objectives.

We anticipate that about 50% of ICAR participants would be from outside the United States. The continuously evolving guidelines and restrictions around international travel, particularly with the recent emergence of the Omicron variant, make planning participation for our attendees very challenging. We want to have a conference when all who want to attend are able to do so with greater confidence.

In addition, as you know, the host organizations are non-profit organizations. From a risk management perspective, we believe postponement is prudent. We had until December 1, 2021 to cancel our contract with the hotel for a nominal fee; that fee would have increased exponentially if we cancelled at a later date. Postponing to a date later in 2022 will give us flexibility to consider other locations and dates that will be safer for international travel.

Thank you for your support and patience as we work to bring you a safe and rewarding in-person experience. We will keep you updated about plans to reschedule.
Next Steps

Registered Attendees
If you already registered for ICAR 2022, your registration fee will automatically be refunded by December 15, 2021.

Abstract Submissions
We are grateful to the researchers who submitted abstracts and apologize for the unfortunate timing of notice. Instructions on the withdrawal of abstracts and resubmission will be coming at a later time. Your submitted abstracts will remain confidential.

Cancel Any Booked Travel Plans
If you booked a hotel room at Caribe Royale with ICAR's group rate, your reservation will automatically be cancelled without any fee. You will receive an email notification of the cancellation from the hotel. If you would still like to keep your room reservation, you must call the Caribe Royale to re-book your room at 1 (800) 823-8300. Caribe Royale will still honor the group rate that you were offered, but you need to act quickly. If you booked a flight, contact your airline for cancellation options.
